Our Story
We started with one hotel, one neighbourhood, and one belief.
Majestic Mirage began in 2018 with a single converted warehouse in Bandra, Mumbai. We'd noticed that the most interesting parts of India's cities were being left out of the luxury conversation — and we thought we could do something about it.
The idea was simple: find extraordinary buildings in extraordinary neighbourhoods, and build hotels that feel like they grew out of the street rather than being dropped onto it. Commission local designers. Work with neighbourhood chefs. Hire people who actually live there.
Seven years and four more hotels later, we're still at it. The buildings get more interesting, the chefs get more talented, and the lobbies somehow keep getting better. We're nowhere near done.
We choose locations because of the neighbourhoods, not despite them. Every hotel is designed to make the local community proud.
We source our food from local suppliers, commission Indian designers and artists, and hire from within the neighbourhood wherever we can.
Our lobbies, restaurants, and events are open to everyone. A hotel that closes itself off is a hotel that loses its soul.
We're working to reduce our footprint: solar panels, rainwater harvesting, zero single-use plastics, local supply chains. We publish our progress annually.
No points. No tiers. No redemption anxiety. Mirage Friends get early access to new hotel launches, preferred rates, and occasional surprises — like a note from the chef when you check in, or a room upgrade because we felt like it.
It's our way of saying thank you to the people who keep coming back.
